Saliva released their self-titled debut album on August 26, 1997, through Rockingchair Records, a record label owned and operated by Mark Yoshida and Ruth Thompson-Bernabe. The release was recorded and produced by Bill Pappas at Rockingchair Studios. They were signed to Island Records and went on to release their second studio album Every Six Seconds. Every Six Seconds is the second studio album by American rock band Saliva. It is their first album under Island Records. In July 2008, Every Six Seconds was certified platinum by the RIAA.
