Das Boot (1981) Reaction & Review! FIRST TIME WATCHING!!

Das Boot is an instant classic. I’ve never seen a war film from the German perspective, they are almost always shown to be outright bad guys but this film presented them as human beings, as complex characters. Wolfgang Peterson’s magnus opus was a masterpiece of modern cinema, it’s absolutely timeless. The directing was amazing, the performances from the entire crew were some of the best of the era, the cinematography, sound and production were incredible and the story was as old as time itself. It was about war and the effects it has on ordinary men under orders.
